Naftali Bennett, a former aid to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, was appointed Sunday to the position of Director-General of the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.

He replaces Pinchas Wallerstein who resigned from the post a few weeks ago.

Under the Kadima government, when the Likud party was in the opposition, Bennett served as Netanyahu's chief of staff.

He is the co-founder of Cyota, which RSA Security purchased for $145 million in 2005.
