Former chief rabbi Yonah Metzger remanded into custody for nine days

Following his arrest  for taking a bribe, fraud and other charges on Monday, former chief rabbi Yonah Metzger was remanded into custody for nine days.

Justice Menachem Mizrahi of the Rishon Lezion Magistrates Court, stated at Metzger's bail hearing that there was a real basis to believe that releasing Metzger could lead to the frustration of the investigation against him, Army Radio reported.
