Free MDA self-defense and first-aid workshops around country

As a sign of the times, Magen David Adom will offer free, two-hour self-defense and first-aid workshops at its first-aid and ambulance stations around the country, as well as number of other locations, on Wednesday and Thursday The workshops, which will be held at 7 p.m. both nights, are open to the general public and are being organized in cooperation with the Israel Judo Association.
Participants must register on the organization’s website at www.mdais.org.
The workshops will focus on treating victims with serious wounds such as those stabbed with knives and suffering from gunshot wounds.
At MDA’s request, Israel Judo Association director Sagi Gur will present fundamentals on self defense.
Also, actress Yamit Sol, who is also an MDA volunteer, appears in a video film with examples of how people wounded in terrorist attacks were saved with basic first aid. The film can be downloaded with English subtitles at: https://mdaonline.egnyte.com/dl/h6kft- CA4U1.
MDA said Tuesday that its smartphone application for first aid has been downloaded by 10,000 people in the last few weeks bringing the total downloads since it was launched two years ago to 114,000.
The smartphone app can be found by searching for Magen David Adom via the App Store for iPhones and Play Store for Android models.
