Labor party leadership candidate Avi Gabbay announced  on Thursday morning that MK Isaac Herzog will remain opposition leader, assuming that he wants to, if Gabby will become the new head of the Labor party, according to The Jerusalem Post's sister publication Maariv.

Gabbay stated that, "Herzog was chosen with 24 mandates and there is no need to replace him."
