Gabbay: No intention to make Gantz Labor party leader

Labor Party leader Avi Gabbay responded to questions on his future as head of the party in an interview with Army Radio Thursday morning.
"No one has the intention of making Benny Gantz the head of the party," Gabbay said.
Gabbay was responding to a recently released poll showing that if the popular former IDF chief Benny Gantz were selected to head the party, the Zionist Union would win 24 seats, as opposed to the 15 projected under Gabbay's continuing leadership.
"I am the only alternative," Gabbay added. "When I was in Europe, the Pope asked to meet me because he wanted to know the Israeli opposition's positions in recent years."
