Former IDF chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot told radio Kol Chai on Friday morning that he is not running for Knesset in the September 17 election.

Eisenkot said that the journalist who would speculate that he would run are "playing chess with themselves."The former IDF chief of staff could run legally eventhough he only left the army in december because of a loophole in the three-year cooling off period law that requires generals to sit out only one election.
