Gallant: We recognize and cherish Kochavi for his many years of service

"Greetings to Major General Aviv Kochavi, who has been appointed as the 22nd Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces by the Israeli cabinet, who both recognizes and cherishes Aviv for his many years of joint service, operations, training, battles and his other involvements of building the IDF's strength," Minister of Construction Yoav Gallant wrote on his Facebook page earlier today, "A bold fighter and an outstanding officer. The new chief of staff represents the best and brightest of the IDF commanders in the past generation. Aviv is the right person at the right time. A confident and proud chief of staff to command the army and a truly successful warrior."
