Gantz: No escape from significant operation in Gaza

"There will be no escape from conducting a significant operation [in Gaza]," Chief of IDF General Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz said on Tuesday, according to a statement on the IDF website.

"The IDF knows how to operate in a determined, decisive and offensive manner against terrorists in the Gaza Strip," he explained, adding that any military action would be planned and quick.

Speaking on the third anniversary of Operation Cast Lead, Gantz "expressed satisfaction with the high level of deterance Israel gained from [the operation]."
