Germany's parliament on Wednesday approved the planned withdrawal of troops from the Incirlik air base in southern Turkey following Ankara's refusal to allow German lawmakers access to its soldiers there.

The parliament said in a statement that it backed the plan to move the 280 German troops to an air base in Jordan and expected the withdrawal to go ahead swiftly.
