Israeli consul in New Zealand, Teddy Poplinger, on Wednesday said that it is impossible to determine with certainty whether Israeli backpacker Ofer Mizrahi is among the dead after an earthquake struck Christchurch on Tuesday, reported Israel Radio.

While most Israelis in Christchurch left for Wellington and Auckland, Poplinger said that the Israeli consulate is still trying to get in contact with 20 Israelis who's families have not heard from them since the earthquake.
