Greek Deputy Justice Minister Costas Karagounis is set to propose a bill banning religious, ethnic and homophobic incitement, Greek community leader David Saltiel announced at the 2013 World Jewish Congress plenary assembly in Budapest on Tuesday.

According to Saltiel, punishments will range from three months to six years in prison, or a fine of 20,000 euros.

Saltiel also said that those who engage in Holocaust denial or give the Nazi salute will be subject to these punitive measure.

Saltiel noted that the bill would not exclude MPs such as members of the Golden Dawn party which he considers to be a neo- Nazi organization.
