Hamas: Drug shortage in Gaza; state of emergency declared

The Hamas Health Ministry on Wednesday declared a state of emergency in the Gaza Strip as a result of a shortage in pharmaceuticals.

A continuation in the shortage of medicine may lead to a halt in basic medical treatment, the ministry emphasized.

Hamas Health Minister Basam Naim warned that all surgery scheduled to take place in Gaza's hospitals will be postponed if the needed medical supplies do not arrive.
