The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) said Wednesday that they arrested Hussein Abu Kweik, a representative for Hamas's election committee, in Ramallah overnight. He was arrested for alleged activities that could pose a threat to security in the area. A spokesman for Hamas in Gaza condemned the arrest and alleged that Israel was trying to get involved in their West Bank election campaign and influence votes.
