Former Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh on Sunday called for the formation of a special committee to follow up on the implementation of the cease-fire, which has been holding since the last week of August.

Haniyeh said that the committee would be asked to ensure that the terms of the cease-fire agreement in the Gaza Strip are fully implemented. He said the committee should consist of representatives of all Palestinian factions.

Haniyeh also called for an end to growing tensions between Hamas and Fatah.
