Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer player arrested for alleged hit-and-run

Hapoel Tel Aviv soccer player Khateb Obaida has been arrested for allegedly hitting a pedestrian in the Nazareth area and failing to help the man, who later died of his wounds.

Obaida's remand was extended until Thursday at Nazareth Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.According to police, Obaida hit 39-year-old Naif Ashkar, from Kfar Raina in the North, and left the scene without helping him. He went to police, admitting that he had hit the man three hours later.
