Head of Arab monitors set to go to Syria

CAIRO - Sudanese General Mohammed Ahmed Mustafa Dabi, who is leading the Arab League monitoring team, said on Saturday he would travel to Syria later in the day.

Dabi was speaking to reporters at the League's Cairo headquarters after talks with League chief Nabil Elaraby. The first batch of about 50 monitors is expected to travel to Syria on Monday.
