A major blaze at the Arena Mall in Herzliya left three Israelis in critical condition from smoke inhalation, Magen David Adom spokesman Zaki Heller said Wednesday night.

An additional four people were lightly wounded by smoke inhalation, and all seven have been evacuated to Ichilov and Tel Hashomer hospitals in central Israel.

The National Fire Department spokesman said that a total of five fire teams worked to battle the blaze, and that by 8 p.m. they had established control of the fire.

It is still unclear what started the fire, which broke out in the spa at the Arena mall. An investigation has been opened into the incident, the fire department said.
