Herzog invites Druze leader to address Jewish Agency in October

Incoming Chairman of Jewish Agency Isaac Herzog invited Druze leader Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif to address the organization at its October conference, according to a Thursday Jewish Agency press release.

The invitation comes in response to the continuing uproar over the just-passed Nation-State Law, in particular among Druze community leaders.

The invitation is meant to signal the Agency's "respect and appreciation for the Druze community in Israel."

Tarif is the spiritual leader of Israel's Druze.
