High Court orders 'starving mother' to undergo pre-internment hearing

The High Court of Justice ruled on Wednesday that the haredi mother accused of starving her three-year-old child over a period of two years should undergo an evaluation which will determine whether she be put in prison while awaiting her trial, or if she could remain under house arrest. Prosecutors have been trying to overturn a Jerusalem District Court ruling which decided that the woman was not a danger to any of her other children, and could therefore remain at her home until her trial.
