Hit and run accident takes the life of a 9-year-old girl

A nine-year-old girl was killed on Monday in a hit and run accident that took place in Jabel Mukaber, an east Jerusalem Arab neighborhood.

MDA (Magen David Adom) forces that were called to the scene found the girl lying on the road. They provided immediate treatment, but had to determine her death within minutes.

The driver has yet to be tracked down by police, who have set out on intelligence and investigative actions in his pursuit.

A senior MDA medic who was at the scene was quoted as saying that "when we arrived we saw a girl about nine years old who was suffering from grieve injuries in all of her body. We tried to save her life, but she was gravely injured and with no signs of life and in a short while we were forced to determine her death at the scene."
