IDC opens a journalism institute named after Daniel Pearl

Herzliya's Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) on Wednesday officially opened the Daniel Pearl International Journalism Institute (DPIJI) named after the Wall Street Journal reporter who was murdered in 2002.
Pearl, an American, was kidnapped in Karachi while researching a story on Islamist militants in the months after the September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.
An opening event was held for the Daniel Pearl newsroom, launched by the IDC's Sammy Ofer School of Communications.
