Defense minister Moshe Ya'alon restricted the fishing area to three miles from the Gaza coast, reducing it to three miles from the original six mile zone. The restriction came as a response to the Palestinian rocket attack on Sderot Thursday morning.

As a result, the expanded fishing zone, which had been in place since the end of Operation Pillar of Defense of last year, has been cancelled.
