An IDF force operating north of Eilat along the Egyptian border had a single shot fired at it late Sunday night.

IDF soldiers returned fire and shot flares into the air in order to illuminate the site, which was very close to the location of last Thursday's terror attack near Eilat that killed eight Israelis.

The IDF was still concerned that there are additional or new terrorist cells in the Sinai Peninsula planning attacks similar to the one that was carried out last week.

On Thursday, three terrorists wearing military vests and armed with assault rifles, RPGs, roadside bombs and bomb belts, crossed into Israel near the Netafim Border Crossing along Route 12 between Mitzpe Ramon and Eilat.
