IDF imposes holiday closure on West Bank

The Israel Defense Forces has imposed a general closure on the West Bank for the Yom Kippur holiday, Israel Radio reported just after midnight on Thursday.

The closure will be lifted after the holiday ends on Saturday night and in accordance with security assessments. Any Palestinians wishing to enter Israel during the holiday will only be allowed to do so in cases of urgent humanitarian needs or emergencies subject to approval by the Civil Administration.
