An IDF soldier injured during Operation Protective Edge died of his wounds on Sunday, bringing the Israeli death toll in the war to 72.

The soldier was identified as Sgt. Shachar Shalev, 20, from Aloni Habashan. Shalev, a soldier in the Paratroopers Brigade, was injured during operational duty in southern Gaza on July 23, 2014.
