Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton discussed the latest regional developments, specially the situation in Palestine and the Gaza Strip, in their phone conversation, Fars News reported.

The Iranian foreign minister expressed concern about the alleged sectarian conspiracy plots hatched to create rifts among Muslims to weaken the Islamic world.

Earlier today, Zarif also contacted his Omani counterpart Yusuf Bin Alawi and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian territories and stress Tehran's support for the "resistance front."
