Israel calls on the U.N. to pass a resolution condemning Hamas

Israel will ask U.N. member states to label Hamas a terrorist organization at the end of November when the UNGA will mark the anniversary of UN Resolution 181 (1947), Israel's Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon said in a press release on Monday night.
"“It is time for the moral majority of the United Nations to take action, and to stand with us against Hamas and its terrorism,"” Danon said.
"this effort underscores the efforts US Ambassador Nikki Haley has taken to help us bring the truth to the U.N., and shine a light on Hamas and Iranian terror activities," he said, "it is time for the U.N. to label Hamas as a terrorist organization, once and for all."
U.N. Resolution 181 (1947) called for the partition of mandatory Palestine and the creation of a Jewish state and an Arab state with the area of Jerusalem to be under U.N, control.
