Israel to send delegation to Nepal

Israel's Magen David Adom emergency medical service is planning to send a delegation to Nepal, slated to take off from Tel Aviv on Thursday night.

Following a Himalayan avalanche on Wednesday which has left over 25 dead and 85 climbers missing on a popular mountain trekking route in Nepal, the head of MDA convened a special session to decide how to respond to the tragedy.

The delegation will provide medical assistance, monitor the situation of injured Israelis from up close and has already contacted its counterparts in the south Asian country to set up arrangements.
