Israeli Ambassador to US: No peace process, we want peace

March 3, 2013 18:20

Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren on Sunday spoke at the Annual AIPAC Policy Conference, urging Israeli and Palestinian political leaders to begin the peace process immediately.

He insisted that the US shares a desire for a peaceful solution among Israelis and Palestinians saying, "We don’t want to start negotiations tomorrow. We want to start them today, right now, in Jerusalem, in Ramallah, here in DC."  "We don't want a peace process, we want peace," declared Oren.

Oren said Obama's upcoming trip to Israel sends a message that Israel isn't alone, and an example of this is the Iron Dome missile defense system which would not have been possible without American support.
