Israeli media reported Friday night that the Israeli Consulate in New York closed down after receiving a package which contained white powder and a letter threatening Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Israel's diplomatic mission in New York was sealed off according to Channel 2, and the staff were ordered to remain inside while the materials were being inspected. Channel 2 did not cite a source.

This is a developing story.
