Israel's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Danny Danon, released a statement towards his Spanish counterpart on Thursday evening following the van ramming attack in Barcelona, offering support and condemning the attack.

''Terror is terror and Israel stands by the side of the people of Spain as we pledge to fight all those who seek to harm the free world,'' the statement said.

13 people have reportedly been killed, and dozens injured, after a van rammed into a crowd outside of a kosher restaurant on a busy tourist street, according to police and local media. The attack is being treated as a terror attack.
