Israeli police arrest dozens in drug-trafficking sting

Police arrested dozens of suspects for drug trafficking and arms dealing after a year-long undercover operation, according to a press release from the Israel Police spokesperson.
An undercover agent managed to infiltrate Bedouin communities in the Negev and bought tens of thousands of shekels' worth of drugs, as well as weapons smuggled from the Palestinian Authority, including an M16 assault rifle and three Carl Gustaf rifles. Police said that the agent worked at high risk of exposure.
The suspects in the operation, who ranged in age from 17 to 40, were arrested in a combined operation by the Israel Police and the Border Police.
