Israeli police prevents buses of Muslim worshipers entry to Jerusalem

Israeli police prevented buses carrying hundreds of Muslim worshipers from entering Jerusalem on Friday in an effort to prevent tension and confrontation ahead of the morning's Friday prayers, according to Israeli media.
Thousands of police officers have been drafted into Jerusalem to prevent any disruptions to public safety following the recent terrorist attack at Temple Mount and the new security measures installed at the site.
Many Palestinians object to the new measures and see them as a disruption of the status quo. Since the new measures have been placed, large groups of worshipers have opted to pray in the street outside the Temple Mount in protest.
