In a statement released to the press Thursday morning, The Defense Minster's office said Israeli security forces made multiple arrests of alleged Hamas members in the West Bank Wednesday night.

Seven suspects were captured from areas of the West Bank including Ramallah and Hebron. Those arrested are suspected of being involved in terrorist activities and planning violent attacks against Israeli civilians.

The Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) in a joint operation with the IDF and the Israel Police has in recent months uncovered a Hamas terror network operating in and around Nablus in the northern West Bank, the agency said in a press release on Wednesday.

Altogether around 40 suspects have been arrested in the operation, including senior Hamas members and former security prisoners.
