An Israeli tourist was killed in a car accident in Argentina, the Foreign Ministry announced Sunday.

According to the repot, the 23-year-old was travelling with a friend in the southern Argentinian city of Esquel, near the border with Chile, when the crash took place.

Three other Israelis were involved in the crash, one of whom was injured and being treated in a local hospital.

Both the Foreign Ministry and the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires are in contact with the family to bring the man's body back to Israel for burial.
