An Israel tourist in his 50s was killed while traveling in Uganda, the Foreign Ministry confirmed on Tuesday.

After sustaining wounds, the man was evacuated for medical treatment in the African nation's capital of Kampala, where medical workers declared his death.

The Foreign Ministry was working to repatriate the man's body back to Israel.

Per the family's request, no further details regarding the matter were set to be released for the time being.
