An Israeli tourist drowned in Guatemala after a sports-related accident, the Foreign Ministry confirmed Tuesday.

The ministry added that the precise circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

Local media reported that the woman fell from the dinghy she was using to participate in extreme sports at Semuc Champey in the center of the country.
