Police forces at a security checkpoint, located at the Northern West Bank, foiled on Monday an attempt to smuggle an illegal Palestinian and an unlicensed pistol into Israeli territory, according to the Defense Ministry.

The driver, a 26-year-old female Israeli resident of Gan Hashomron, driving an Israeli vehicle with a yellow license plate, was stopped by the security checkers at the checkpoint and was asked to open the trunk of the vehicle. The woman refused claiming that a malfunction in the vehicle does not allow for the trunk to be opened.

The security officer opened the trunk and found a 37-year-old resident of the Palestinian village of Zabda. In addition to the infiltrator during the security check, an unlicensed gun was found.
