Italian journalists held in Syria freed

ROME - Four Italian journalists kidnapped and held in war-torn Syria since April 4 were freed on Saturday, a statement from interim Italian Foreign Minister Mario Monti said.

The statement gave no details about who had held the reporters or where they were released, but state news agency ANSA said they were now in Turkey.
