Japan looks to lift sanctions on Iran

Japan says it is moving to swiftly remove sanctions placed against Iran following the lifting of most international sanctions on the country under a deal US President Barack Obama said had cut off Tehran's path to a nuclear bomb.
"Not only are we strengthening the traditionally friendly relations with Iran, we plan to play a part in helping Iran recover the trust of the region for the peace and stability of the middle-eastern region and we would help push this forward," Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga told a news conference on Mondayin Tokyo."As for the lifting (of the sanctions), we are talking to all the ministries involved in the lifting of Iran's sanctions and we will move swiftly to implement this course (of action) according to the United Nation's Security Council resolution," he added.
