Authorities in Alabama evacuated a Jewish Community Center in the city of Birmingham on Monday morning after the establishment received a third bomb threat in recent weeks, according to local media.
Bomb-sniffing canine units were dispatched into the Levite JCC after the premises was cleared, and police later determined that the bomb threat had not been real. Similar threat were reported on Monday in Florida, New York and Michigan as a growing trend of such threats to Jewish institutions has spread across the country in recent weeks.
No attacks have actually materialized from the recent threats.
