A man from the Jerusalem area was undergoing therapy for pedophilia paid for by his haredi community for the past few years in order to discourage victims’ families from complaining to police, Jerusalem district police announced following the man’s arrest on Tuesday.

Police said the suspect confessed to sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl from central Israel staying with him in Jerusalem as well as at least 10 additional cases of sexual abuse and pedophilia, most of which he said took place while the victims, from outside of Jerusalem, were staying in the haredi community in the city.
