Jordan to intensify role in anti-Islamic State coalition

AMMAN - Jordan will intensify its efforts with an international coalition fighting Islamic State, a spokesman for the government said on Wednesday, a day after militants released a video purporting to show a captured Jordanian pilot being burnt alive.
"We are talking about a collaborative effort between coalition members to intensify efforts to stop extremism and terrorism to undermine, degrade and eventually finish Daesh," Mohammad al-Momani said in Amman, using an Arabic acronym for Islamic State. He added that King Abdullah headed a meeting with top security officials on Wednesday.
