Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has offered former US Treasury secretary Larry Summers the job of Bank of Israel governor, Reuters reported on Saturday.Globes reported on Saturday that acting-BoI governor Karnit Flug is also in the running for the job.The Turkel Committee responsible for vetting nominees to certain high positions has already approved three candidates - Mario Blejer, Zvi Eckstein and Victor Medina.Netanyahu and Finance Minister Yair Lapid are expected to make their decision on Sunday.
