Kerry: Turkish reconciliation will help advance peace

US Secretary of State John Kerry released a statement to the press on Sunday saying "The reconciliation between Israel and Turkey is a very important development that will help advance the cause of peace and stability in the region."

Kerry added "Prime Minister Netanyahu and Prime Minister Erdogan deserve great credit for showing the leadership necessary to make this possible."

Kerry returned to Israel on Saturday for meetings with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, after accompanying US President Barack Obama to Jordan on Friday.
