Kerry condemns Russia's 'invasion and occupation' of Ukraine

US Secretary of State John Kerry condemned Russia's "invasion and occupation" of Ukraine in a statement released by his office.

Within the next few days, emergency consultations of the UN Security Council, the North Atlantic Council, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe will take place in an attempt to maintain peace and security, he said.

Kerry also reiterated President Obama's calls for immediate de-escalation of tensions.
