Kerry meets Abbas in Jordan, set to return to Israel

US Secretary of State John Kerry met with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in the Jordanian capital of Amman on Friday to discuss US efforts to restart peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians.

The leaders did not address the media before the meeting.Palestinian Authority chief negotiator Saeb Erekat and senior Abbas aide Nabil Abu Rudeineh were also present at the meeting, Israel Radio reported.

Kerry, who met with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Thursday night, was scheduled to return to Israel for further talks with Netanyahu on Friday.
