Kiryat Tivon Mall collects backpacks for needy children

Kiryat Tivon Mall collects school backpacks to be distributed to needy children
The Haya’ar mall in Kiryat Tivon will launch on Sunday a charity operation calling for residents on the town to donate used school backpacks to disadvantaged children, whose families cannot afford to pay for new school supplies, ahead of the upcoming school year.
Backpacks collected during the operation, which is the result of the mall’s cooperation with the NGO Yad Ezra V’Shulamit, will then be distributed to the needy children.
"Unfortunately, Israel has tens of thousands of families in need of assistance,” Haya’ar Mall manager Reut Cohen said in a statement, “I'm sure the backpacks we collect will bring a smile to the faces of these children, who are getting ready for the beginning of the school year.”
Cohen also called on residents of Kiryat Tivon and the surrounding area to “come and contribute generously” to the operation, which will be held this upcoming Sunday as well as Sunday August 18th at the mall.
