A three judge panel of the Jerusalem District Court on Wednesday convicted former security guard Hadi Kabalan, “the Kotel shooter,” of shooting 14 times and murdering 46-year-old Doron Ben-Shalush in cold blood during his June 21, 2013 visit to the Western Wall. The prosecution told judges judges Zvi Segal, Ben-Zion Greenberger and Arnon Darel in January 2014 that Kabalan had previously met his victim, potentially negating the defense that he might have confused him with being a Muslim terrorist and proving that Kabalan had murdered Ben-Shalush in cold blood.
