Noam Schalit, father of kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit, on Thursday met with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner, who said that France was continuing to work tirelessly for the release of the captive, who holds French citizenship. Kouchner added that France was "also working behind the scenes and is trying to help the German mediator." Later Thursday, Noam will receive honorary Paris citizenship from mayor Bertrand Delanoë, and will also meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
